Barn Cat Programme

The Helianthus Charity is launching a Barn Cat Programme and invites all people who may be interested (whether now or at some point in the future) to contact us.
Please also help us to spread the word about this new programme.

What is the Barn Cat programme?

Our charity and its dedicated charity shop aim to help animals, all animals. Over the past few months, however, we have been overwhelmed with unwanted/abandoned cats and kittens. Whereas it is still possible to find homes for the kittens, it is much more difficult to rehome older cats (1 year upwards), especially if these are cats used to living outdoors.

If you have barns, stables, outbuildings etc. and wish to have a natural way of keeping rodents at bay, then these cats can help.
All the cats in our programme (male and female) will be in good health, will have been tested for FIV/FeLV and neutered by our charity. These will not be wild cats, but shy ones or those more used to living outdoors as opposed to house pets.

As part of the programme, you will be responsible for offering daily food, fresh water and a safe, warm shelter for them to stay. We will offer a bag of litter and a bag of food so that you can keep the cat(s) indoor for a week or so until they get used to their new surroundings.

Please help us give these animals a chance in life…. Thank you.
